Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere
Living in Cumbria is great as it has the beautiful lake district on your door step Bowness-on-Windermere being on of my favourite places to visit and as some one who doesn’t drive spend a day with me as we use Stagecoach the public bus service in Cumbria to travel to my favourite place.
A little time before my trip I use the stagecoach App to check out time tables and cost but as someone who lives locally to these services i have a rough idea to start with. I buy a Daily North West Explorer ticket £12 (price as of time of travel) on the App but these tickets will be available on board, Gives you unlimited travel on the stagecoach services across the northwest the app lets you know the the area you use this in. The app is a great way to up to date with timetables, bus tracking and ticket information and purchases.
My trip to Bowness-on-Solway starts on the 104 Carlisle to Penrith bus when I arrive at Penrith I jump onto the X5 to Keswick after a quick walk to Derwent water where there is amazing views we walked back to catch the 555 to Ambleside, these services are regular and the App will keep you up to date and on time. After enjoying the beautiful scenic journey through the mountains i arrive in Ambleside where I board a boat to Bowness-on-Windermere when i reach Bowness its time to have a wander on the lake front and being greeted by the lakes resident gaggle of Canadian geese. I then enjoy a ice-cream and catch the 508 back to Penrith.
